Flow Cytometry - A Basic Introduction.
A new introductory book on flow cytometry by Michael Ormerod.

I have just published a new introductory book on flow cytometry which can
be read, free, at
flowbook.denovosoftware.com
I would be grateful if you could let the members of your Society know
about the book. Would it be possible to put a link on your Web site?
The book has some unique features which are described below.
In partnership with De Novo Software, Dr. Michael Ormerod has just
published a new book: Flow Cytometry - A Basic Introduction. The intended
audience of the book is people coming to flow cytometry for the first
time. It is of a reasonable length (116 pages), so that it can be read and
understood easily. While the book is not an exhaustive exposition of every
aspect of the technique, it covers flow cytometry's major applications in
mammalian biology.
We are offering the book in three different formats. You can purchase the
book as a traditional book from De Novo web site. The entire contents of
the book are also online. A bonus feature of the online version is that
most of the figures have links to the data file(s) from which they were
derived. If you have downloaded the free FCS Express Reader, you can open
the analysis layout that was used to create each figure. In some cases,
extra information about the figure is supplied, including other data
files. The reader can experiment with the data, changing the position of
the gates, markers, quadrants etc.
We have also created a wiki version of the book at
flowbook-wiki.denvosoftware.com. The wiki version contains all the
contents of the book, but allows anyone to add or edit articles. We hope
that you will be able to contribute in areas of your expertise to make the
wiki a valuable flow cytometry resource for entire community. Please do
not be shy, the more people contribute content to the wiki, the better it
will be.
